I am ALMOST done with these posts! Hold your applause til the end please ;)
Sunday morning we went to church in Alpine just a block from where we were staying. The weather was perfect, of course, and we walked. It was so nice! These little cutie-bugs were so sweet!
We left after lunch to head for St. George where we were going to visit Karli and Blake. They had graciously let us borrow their car for our entire trip so we drove it back to them and spent all day Monday with them! St. George is really beautiful. I LOVE all the red rock, I didn't get too many great pictures of it with my dang iPhone but it was gorgeous either way! Monday morning was spent touring the St. George Temple visitors' center and grounds. This temple is the oldest working temple in the world for our church and it was so cool to see the architecture.
Here are our sweet kiddos with Brody! We love that boy!
I got this idea from one of my favorite bloggers who always encourages their kids to touch them temple because if they touch the temple then it will touch them ;) I love it!
Even if you aren't a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, you can't deny how pretty this building is! The temple visits were my favorite part of our trip I think, my soul feels at peace when I see one and I feel that much closer to my Father in Heaven.
And me and my stud...
After lunch at the Johnson house, we went out for custard. Don't ask me why I make these faces...
That night Blake's sister Stacy babysat the kids so the adults could go out for dinner. We had hibachi and then went to Costco. Then we went back to get our kiddos and head to the hotel. We love us some Karli & Blake & Brody. I can't wait to see them again!
me and my girl!
Blake came to pick us up from our hotel early Tuesday morning to take us to Vegas to catch our flight home. Our 12 day vacation was coming to an end and couldn't have ended with a better couple of friends and a better view! The drive from St. George to Las Vegas encompasses some really interesting landscape that I have never seen in person before. I was mesmerized!
And this is probably not that impressive to people familiar with it. And my camera didn't do it justice.
Las Vegas was not what I expected either, I was shocked at how when it came in to view, you could see the whole city. Baton Rouge is definitely not like that! Drew fell asleep but I had to snap a shot of the Statue of Liberty ("the small one...from Vegas..." -name that movie!).
Thank goodness for curb-side baggage check because we had quite a haul and since we weren't flying home with the rest of the LA McCartneys, it was a LOT!
Susanna and Jillian fell asleep in the first 20 minutes of our 3 hour direct flight and that lasted for about an hour. Hallelujah! It was seriously a gift!
When we got home and were riding the shuttle to our car, Drew said "Mom! We're in Louisiana! Everything looks back to normal!" We had fun time but I think we were all ready to be back! And there hasn't really been much down time since. With pre-school starting up and Mike's parents leaving for their mission, we have hit the ground running...all posts for another day! Utah & Idaho, we love you! Until next time!
(And if you made it through reading all of these posts and looking at all of these pictures, props! And thank you!) Ok...now you can clap!
