Fussy Baby!
For the last few nights, Drew has been really fussy and it has been hard to get him settled down to sleep. We usually feed him at around 11pm but lately it has taken a few hours to quiet him down. Then he wakes up at 3 or 4 am and then again around 7am. I'm not sure if he has colic or not but he seems to be pooping and burping well. Last night, I could not get him settled so I finally came in the living room and propped up on the couch trying different things. We ended up falling asleep, me on my back with Drew on his tummy on my chest, and he slept from 1am to 5:45 am! Mike finally woke us up! My sis-in-law said that a lot of babies get cranky around 3 weeks because they're bodies are adjusting. Has anyone ever experienced this? He is really pleasant when he is awake but when he gets tired or hungry, it has become an ordeal! My poor little man, I'm not sure what to do!

BOSTON WAS THE SAME WAY!!!!! RIGHT at three weeks after my mom left! It was a MESS until about 5 weeks until we switched him 100% to bottle. He ONLY would fall asleep on our chests and that FREAKED me out! Luckily, somehow he out grew that! Good luck! I totally know what you're going through though! We tried everything!
Oh, and yes we'll be in for Christmas from the 23rd-Jan 1st. Not as long as we usually do but if we had some time it'd be fun to get together!!! Let us know!
Yea I don't think its colic..I think that you just have had a really good baby and now hes being a typical newborn. I remember weeks 3-5 being hard. They tend to get off schedule a little and maybe get hungrier. This is also when I had the hardest time keeping him full with breast milk. Hang in there..you are a great mommy!
It's probably not colic. Your friend is right- something around 2/3 weeks, their stomachs are adjusting to the milk. A lot of it depends on if he's bottle or breast fed, too. Hang in there. Call if you need ANYTHING!!! 337 802 9807
I don't think it is colic either. Maybe he isn't getting enough to eat. I don't know. I didn't nurse any of mine so I don't know anything about it. Maybe you should try pumping milk so that way you know how much he is getting and wants. Kaia would give us a hard time sleeping until I put her on her tummy. I know you don't want to hear this but all of my babies slept on their tummies and they were all good sleepers and much happier. If you feel comfortable with that, give it a try too. Hang in there and welcome to motherhood! LOL Just when you think you have them figured out they change. You are doing great. =c)
Basically babies just cry...after 2 of them I have found the first 3ish months, after trying EVERYTHING, they still just cry. The only thing that works for the majority with mine where to go outside (no matter what time of the day or night). All babies are different. No book can really help. My husband at one point with the 1st baby said he would find the author of 1 of the baby books and kick him in the head with boots :-) Colic is a term when docs don't know what else to say..think about it, babies come out of this wonderful womb into this bright, non-heart beating sound, cold world. It sucks at first I am sure however, they and you get over it. You'll forget this part of infant tantrums and want another baby in about a year. Yall are doing great. Kiss and hold him and sing to him. If he is hungry he will eat, if he is tired he will sleep, if he doesn't know what the heck is going on with his new world and doesn't know what else to do he will cry because that is the only way of communicating at this point. At least he is healthy and has a great life ahead of him! You are awesome and everything you feel all moms have felt it too...please communicate more on your blog for feedback, love sarah
All I can say is, "Welcome to parenthood."
