If you've seen or spoken to me in the last 7 months, you know how tired I've been. If it isn't evident enough by my lack of blogging, I think it is safe to say, we have been out of a good routine for a little while now. School starts in 2 weeks and the little fact that summer if almost over shocks me to tears! We'll never get this time back and what the heck did we do with it all? Drew had golf camp for 2 weeks, Susanna had cheer camp for 1. We went to Dallas for a long 4th of July weekend and the rest of the time we've been at home...sleeping late, playing with friends, baking too many batches of cookies, planning and hosting a bridal shower, going to the library and a few splash pads...its been eventful but thankfully not TOO eventful! In an effort to get us back in a little routine before the new school year starts (and because Drew has been asking for money to buy things he wants), we are reinstitution our chores & responsibilities charts! He and Susanna are old enough to really get this going and Jillian has one too, just for practice...plus, she feels like a big kid, too.
Here's to hoping I am disciplined enough to stick with it this time!
Drew's EXTRAs are dusting his room and collecting the trash in both bathrooms.
Susanna's EXTRAs are dusting her room and tidying up the bath toys, refilling toilet paper/etc. She actually seemed excited by that one!
I have a nice little list for myself too, which includes rotating Will's 3-6 month clothes to 6-9 (when did that happen?!), psyching myself up for potty training Jilly (which still hasn't been something I've wanted to deal with, moving her into her big girl bed and sleep training Will. I'm a human pacifier and I'm not sure I can handle that much longer!
And just so I will have this on record as the miracle of summer 2016, the 2 Wal-mart locations in our area started online grocery shopping and free pickup...it has saved my sanity this summer (I'm not exaggerating...it really has been a relief) and I am forever faithful to that place and grateful for the sweet service it has provided me and my brain.
