At the end of September, we celebrated my grandmother's 75th birthday. It was a bit overdue since her actual birthday was 2 days before my cousin's wedding, but we wanted to throw her a party for sure! This woman is one of my favorite people on the Earth. I've loved and looked up to her for as long as I can remember. She grew up in a Cajun-French speaking house hold with her parents, brothers and grandmother who ONLY spoke French. She went to school but was disciplined if she spoke anything but English. She raised 4 kids and took care of my PawPaw until he died a few months after Mike and I got married. And now she goes on trips with her friends, is a member of Catholic Daughters, and has brunch wit her good friends every month. She is the best cook I know, I call her all the time to get advice, especially when I'm craving one of her meals. One of the most important things I've learned from watching her is how she never says ugly things about other people, she is not one to gossip and I can remember times when I have said such nice things and she's just smiled and said something positive. What a woman, right? Like I said, one of my favorite people! I love that my kids know her and will have memories of her.

Her great-grandbabies!
The "Fontenot" girls (by blood)
She and her 4 children (my dad in the orange)
What a woman. I pray that one day my children and grandchildren will love me the way I love her and that I will show them, at least, the same amount of love she shows us!
