Besides going to the beach for a week and then school starting, August has been pretty low-key and pretty busy at the same time...is that even a thing? We've had our share of making cookies, painting, playing in the pool, blowing bubbles, playing with playdoh, eating popsicles, watching too much tv and getting little things done around the house. Not much cleaning going on, which you can see in some of these pictures...yikes...
We recently decided not to sell our house (we were hoping to build) even though we had the house plans and everything ready to go, it just wasn't a smart move for us financially. There is a difference in being able to purchase something and responsibly purchasing something and we just didn't want all our money tied up in a house. Instead, we have decided to do some things around this house that we were putting off b/c we thought we wouldn't be here much longer. I feel a huge sense of relief knowing we are sticking around a bit longer! I've been wanting a "mud bench" with hooks for a while so we finally did it and it kind of makes me want to add beadboard all around our house!
We bought this jigsaw that has a few different attachments and I am obsessed with it...and really excited to have it b/c I had some cute ideas last year for Christmas gifts and decorations that I couldn't really do b/c I didn't have the tools!
This is how it came out. We broke the mirror that hung on that wall during the process so I took this picture out of the guest room for now. I will eventually put a pinboard up there and use that wall for organization. It is right by our kitchen and the door to the garage so pretty much where I spend 80% of my day! I love it!
These kids are best buds most of the time and I have loved watching them play together this summer. Their relationship has gotten stronger and they are on the same level even more now, which I just makes me so happy!
We've had some pretty hot and humid days around here this August, but lately the temperature has dropped to the 80s, which has been really nice. It is getting me all geared up for the fall, which I know is just dumb because this nice weather is just a teaser with many hot weeks still ahead of us. But to take advantage of it, we've been on many more walks this week, went to the park just us girls, and have gotten even more done in the garage and outside!
Drew looks thrilled to be bike-riding with Piper...he's just being stinker...he really loves that girl!
And this tree in our neighborhood just looked so cool!
So yeah, August has been a good one...its been a good summer! Its still hot out, but Tuesday, I'm putting out my fall decor and don't feel even remotely silly about it!
