florida 2015! {part 1}

Last weekend we met up with  my side of the family and went to Pensacola Beach!  It was a crazy but fun week and I felt pretty exhausted when we got back, but it was definitely worth it!

On the way...

I woke up the next morning to this!

and these cute girls!

We spent the first two mornings at the beach and the kids just loved the sand!  Susanna and Jillian loved the water but Drew stayed pretty clear of any deep (and by that, I mean ankle deep) water.  Susanna could play in the sand with her shovel for hours...it was pretty cute.

Jillian took a few naps...the sun tires you out, ya know!

Meanwhile, Mike was here in Louisiana because of work but got to hang out with this sweet girl after church!

After the we spent time on the beach, we would head up to the condo to eat lunch and take naps.  Jillian is so used to her crib so it was hard to get her down for naps in the beds there...mostly we had to rock her.  I fell asleep with Susanna and when I woke up, I found she and my dad like this!

My maw-maw came for the first few days and Drew was especially attentive to her because she just had hip surgery and turned 77.  He is always concerned for her and I just love their sweet relationship!

We swam in the pool in the afternoons on days 1 & 2...Drew tried out his new goggles.

The sunsets were so pretty.

Here are some pictures of our time at the pool on Tuesday.  Jillian wanted to climb in and out using that little step you see going all around the pool.  It was pretty exhausting being with her at the pool...thank goodness for my mom!

My dad was being a sea-monster with Jill's float...I love his sense of humor and the kids think he is hilarious!

More napping...

My older brother and his girlfriend came in from Oregon and my big kids LOOOOVED her!

It rained Wednesday morning and we ended up staying in the condo playing video games, watching movies, and letting the kids run around.  That afternoon, we went out to the beach and while we didn't get in the water because it was so choppy and full of jelly fish that the weather brought in, they played in the sand for hours.  We met a little friend named Savannah who is 3 just like Susanna...it was really cute watching them being so social.

See that guy right there?  There were a lot of these swimming around for the next 2 days and the pretty clear blue water turned more murky too...it was a bummer.

It was so windy.  Billy bought a few kites and it was perfect weather for flying.

Of course we had to make mermaid tales!

Uncle Billy sat on mermaid Susanna and she thought it was hysterical.  I love this picture!

And when we got back to the condo that night, we had dinner and then Uncle Sean introduced Drew to a new video game called Android Attack Cactus or something like that.  They played for a while and Drew is now hooked.  I loved seeing them bond a little bit, especially since we usually only see him twice a year.

That night, Mike decided to rent a car one way and drive to meet us.  He spent Thursday with us and then drove home with us on Friday, which worked out wonderfully because everyone else was staying until Saturday so I would planning to drive home by myself.  He got in really late that night but we were all so happy and thankful he could come for a bit.  And he brought my new camera, which I had packed but forgotten to load up in my car with everything else!

But that's enough posting for tonight so I'll add those pictures and write about the rest of our stay another day!  Kudos if you got though this whole post!
