We went to LSU to see Mike the Tiger and walk around a little...
We're big fans ;)
then to the LSU Rural Life Museum
(it is so cool, quite the hidden gem smack dab in the middle of Baton Rouge)
I love Louisiana
We hosted a crawfish boil for some of Mike's family, since his brother was in town, and it was really great to be with everyone! Even when you live close to family, it is crazy how little you see one another sometimes. The crawfish were yummy and the kids loved it!
My brothers-in-law took the kids fishing in our neighborhood pond. It was pretty muddy and these girls were fighting over the Hello Kitty rain boots. Thankfully, from someone where in my brain, I pulled out the idea "how silly would it be if you BOTH wore one Hello Kitty boot and one Cars boot?! That would be hilarious!!" They agreed and a compromise was struck! Aren't they cute?!
That Sunday was our stake conference and we had lunch outside in view of the temple.
Hung out at the splash park with friends one day...
...toured St. Joseph's Plantation with Mike's parents (who are back from Russia for a bit...more about them here and here) and sister-in-law...
Jillian is ALMOST walking full time ;)
(I mean, check out those oak trees...gorgeous!)
...and this girl has been waking up a little to early for my taste, but she sure is happy in the mornings! Makes it easier!
We have had a full but happy house these last few weeks and feel so blessed to have family near and far. I am so glad our kids love their cousins.
