Easter Week Activities: Nights 3 and 4

Tuesday, the kids and I spent tons of time outside (the weather has been rockin' it lately!), coloring in the kitchen, and making Easter treats for their preschool classes.

My other planned Easter activities didn't quite work out that day because Mike and I were invited to the LSU softball game with some friends we haven't seen in a while who are in from California.  We made up for it on Wednesday though.  One thing I've learned lately is that the order of things doesn't always matter and I've stopped apologizing to myself or anyone else when I don't get things 100% done all of the time.  Life doesn't always go as planned, and lets face it, right now, life is busy.  You do what you can, when you can!  Can I get an "amen!"?

On Wednesday, the plan was to dye easter eggs and discuss the many miracles of the Savior.  The kids were so excited to dye eggs.  They wanted to dye them before school but then we decided we should probably wait for dad ;)  When they got home from school, I let them help me boil the eggs but they could hardly stand to wait until Mike got home to color them!  So to help pass the time, we read this article from the friend and talked about the different miracles performed by the Savior.  I asked them who Christ had healed during His ministry and Drew said, "the blind man...and the non-walking man."  As we started the story about the leper, I asked them what lepers have on their skin and Susanna said, "bobos!"  (I love that they know this stuff!)  We talked about how we can help people who are sick or suffering, since we don't have actual healing power, and I explained how Christ showed us how to love and help each other.  Susanna said we can give people tylenol and Drew said we can bring them sprite, medicine and soup, and be nice to them.

After dinner, we FINALLY dyed our eggs...and Susanna almost drank the pink...

Drew was snuggling his baby chick ;) and see our "palm branch" on the back door?

Only 3 out of 18 got broken....not too bad!  Then the kids helped Mike pick up in the back yard and when they came in, an Easter egg bath was waiting!  We are loving all this holiday stuff...
