WE LOVE FALL!

The weather in LA has been soooo nice lately!  It actually feels like fall!  And I say it every year, Fall is my favorite!  

Mike had a conference for work in Lake Charles this Friday and since that isn't too far from my mom and dad's house, we went along and stayed 2 nights with them.  On Friday while Mike was at his meeting, the kids and I went to visit one of my life-long friends and her 2 precious girls.  It was such a nice day, we played outside, visited for a good, long time, and ordered pizza.  It really is great to have friends like that, that you've known forever and can just call up any time to drop in and visit for hours.  So fun!

Friday night, after all the fun, Mike and I went to watch my cousins play high school football with some family.  My mom watched the kids so it was sort of like a date but we had to leave early since Jillian won't take a bottle...they won by a landslide and it was actually really fun to be at a high school game again.   I didn't get any pictures...
This morning we woke up and went to a pumpkin patch at a local baptist church in my hometown.  It was a beautiful day, a little on the warm side, but just about perfect under the shady trees.  The kids got their faces painted, made butterfly crafts, listened to story time under the big tent, jumped in the bouncy houses, walked through a little pumpkin maze, held baby animals and rode on the little train.  We ran into a lot of people I hadn't seen in years and years, met their little kiddos, and visited with some really sweet people.  It was the first time in the few days we were there that we actually got to see my dad since he worked all day yesterday and was on-call all night.

 this maze was made out of pallets...such a great idea!  Drew loved going the wrong way and intentionally tried NOT to find his way out ;)

Susanna made friends quick, she is quite friendly and can be pretty sweet ;)  It was such a nice day.  On the way home, all three kids fell asleep and when Drew woke up as we were pulling into the neighborhood, he sleepily said, "I'm so glad we got to go to the pumpkin patch together".  I think we'll be back next year.  And, their school field trip to the pumpkin patch here is on Thursday so we aren't done with them yet!
