Halloween 2014 : Trunk or Treat & School

I am kind of freaking out that Halloween is here already.  It doesn't seem like it has been a whole year since the last time we did all this!  The kids decided LOOOONG ago what they wanted to dress-up as and that made it easy for me, we've had halloween costumes bought for months now!  Since last year our trunk theme revolved around Drew's costume, this year I felt it only fair that it go along with the theme of the girls' (mainly Susanna's) costume.  Plus, I'm not sure how I would have transformed it into Skyland, which if Drew is still into Skylanders next year as he claims he will be, I'll have to figure something out!  But...lucky for me, Susanna wanted to be Elsa so we went with a Frozen theme.  Jillian had to be Olaf by default and she sure was the cutest I've ever seen!

Here is some of the prep...

Prizes for the Chili Cook-off Winner (an apron- Mike's idea, Amy's embroidery!) and one of the Trunk prizes!
Sue-Sue wanted to paint too, little did I know she'd try to recreate her pumpkin on her face she got at the pumpkin patch!

The Primary was in charge of the church Trunk or Treat again this year so we organized it pretty much exactly like we did last year and it went very smoothly!  I love how into the holiday everyone got!  It was a lot of fun!

Drew was amazed by the spooky head...

 Here are our chili judges...
And here is our Frozen trunk!

It took a few attempts and since Olaf doesn't sit up on her own yet, Mya helped!  This is the best one we could get!

That's our friend Eric in the background ;)  It kind of looks like she is photo-bombing him, actually! She was the sweetest thing and got passed around quite a bit...I think it is safe to say people love Jilly-girl!

Susanna and Reece (Elsa and Elsa!)
 Washbuckler eating his chili
and then candy...and for the sake of keeping the memories alive, Drew went around the parking lot trunk or treating and when he had made the round came back and handed me his bag, which didn't seem too full, and said, "I've been around once, mom!"  I told him he could go again since most of the kids usually make more than one round and he said, "nah, I have plenty..."  I was like, "is this really my child?  I'd have gone around as many times as possible..."!  And if you know my sweet tooth, you'd know I ain't kiddin'!
Annabelle, Susanna, and Aliyah hanging out in Eric's truck eating candy! Cute girls!
By the time it was over, Jillian was getting pretty tired.  Mike had just gotten there from a work conference in New Orleans so we packed it up and headed home!
The kids' costumes smelled like little puppy dogs so I washed them quickly last night and hung them up to dry for their school Halloween Party this morning.  They were totally being silly but here they are, my cute little big kids!  Susanna thinks that big brother of hers is pretty funny!
