Busy Bees!

Friday, Mike and I were both home from work! We didn't get to sleep very late, due to our sweet boy waking us up at 7:30 but we laid around for a little while anyway. We had a busy weekend so we busily prepared. I LOVE celebrating during the Easter season. I've had Drew's basket ready for a few days, not all of what is inside it in this picture was for him though...I had treats for Mike, Drew, Matthew, our dads, etc...so please don't think I let my 17 month old eat that much candy ;)

We ran a bunch of errands. We had to get new tires on our car ($ yikes $), I got a quick little trip (my ends were looking rough) and we mowed the grass (I did the back and Mike is doing the front...our yard is quite large).

I dyed eggs for pocking (only Cajuns really know what this means :) The sports theme is inspired by Drew Babe, who already LOVES them. I was too afraid to let him hold on though, for fear that it will get launched across the room. That kid has quite an arm and he knows what balls are for.

I also made cookies for Saturday's family get-together.

Then I cleaned my house a bit so that when we got home from a loooong day Saturday evening, I wouldn't have had to come home to a messy place. We slept pretty good that night.

A lot went on this weekend; being with family, ultrasounds (!!), church, and traveling, but I was determined not to let all of this distract me from the real reason we celebrate Easter. We celebrated the Savior's resurrection this Sunday, a day that reminds us that the Atonement was/is fulfilled, that He died for us and rose from the dead 3 days later as the ultimate sacrifice for us, for my imperfect self, knowing that we would not fully understand just what a sacrifice it was and He didn't do it because He had to, but because He loves us. He is our example and as hypocritical as it might sound, I pray each day that I can become more like Him. Jesus Christ LIVES. Happy Easter!
