Susanna is 4! {part 2-the actual day}

All weekend, I kept getting little glimpses of this girl and just could not believe she was about to be 4.   She seems so grown up and I just kept thinking, "when did it happen?"  When did she stop looking like a baby and start looking like a kid?  How did she grow out of her minnie mouse pjs so fast?  When did she stop pronouncing her "v"s like "b"s?  I seriously can't believe it, but she has grown SO much.  I feel so blessed to have been able to be a part of it and look forward to watching her, being with her, and nurturing her as the years go on.  She's a joy!

Yesterday was the big day and even though I've been pleading with her when I tuck her into bed that she PLEASE STOP growing and just stay 3 forever (to which she always smiles and giggles and says, "nope, I'm getting bigger!") she actually turned 4!

She woke up to cinnamon rolls for breakfast, had dance class that morning, requested spaghetti for dinner, and had chocolate cake before opening her gifts from us when Mike got home!  It was a pretty great day for Susanna!

I can rarely get a serious or clear picture out of this chick...so silly!

When she opened her movie, she said "Frozen Fever!  Just what I've ALWAYS WANTED!!!"...she sure does know how to make a gift-giver feel good ;)

and this one is pretty blurry but I had to post it just for her expression...once she realized it was Dreamy Bright-Eyes!  The number 1 thing she wanted...

and there's nothing like a cute, shirtless big brother to help blow out her candles...she did it in one breath and was so proud!

Her 4-year well-visit is next week but last week we had to go for her eczema and she weighed 40 lbs!  Booster carseat, here we come...and it's about time!  We'll be ordering 2 of those bad boys b/c Drew is hot on her heals...and yes, he's 22 months older but just hitting 40 lbs too!  She wears 5T clothes and size 10 in shoes and she does not like to wear her hair up.  She pulls out her bow and hair elastics as soon as we get home from anywhere and kicks off her shoes.  At least she's stopped insisting on changing into her pjs like she used to!

4 things I love about this girl are...

1. She is so friendly.  We went to the book fair at Drew's school and she said hi to everyone he introduced us to.  She is a little timid but has the confidence not to let that stop her from being friendly.
2. When she gets excited, she makes the best facial expressions!  The other morning before dropping her off from school, she mentioned that she only plays with her friend Kilee because the other kids aren't nice.  I asked her if she thought she could invite them to play palace-pets with them and as the thought formed in her mind, the sweetest smile grew on her face and she just beamed and said it was a great idea!
3.  She loves to sing and she doesn't hold anything back.  At church, she participates so well during singing time and in the car she just belts it out!
4.  She still loves to snuggle me.  At night she prefers me tucking her in and always asks me to lay with her for a minutes.  She will cuddle up on the couch when she watches a show and she gives some great hugs!

We love our Sue-Sue and are soooo grateful for her in our lives!
