This little chicita is 10 months already! How did that happen?! She is still super sweet and starting to get a little more animated. Of all of our kids, she is definitely the most calm. She is very observant and is really content. Most people comment on how chill she is and she is honestly like that 90% of the time. We have cut out feedings during the night (a little overdue) but she is handling it pretty well. She doesn't cry nearly as long as I remember Susanna crying (that girl could go hours, and still can!). At her 9 month check up, our pediatrician recommended I take her to see a physical therapist because she wasn't sitting up well and not even attempting to army crawl. While I had noticed that she was behind in those things, especially compared to her siblings, I wasn't overly concerned. But I have been taking her over the last few weeks and every time we go, her PT comments on how much she has improved. She has just starting sitting up well in the last 6 weeks, she is not crawling but is rolling to get things that she wants, she can sit pretty well on her sides and puts weight on her hands (which she was not doing at all). She gets really mad when toys are just out of her reach, which is good because she really tries hard to get to it! She seems a lot more motivated than in months past, and while she isn't as mobile as our older 2 were at her age (Drew was walking), she is improving a lot. To be totally honest, it is nice that she isn't fully mobile...pretty soon, I'll be running all over trying to keep up with her, so I'm trying to just be patient, helping her as much as I can! It is funny how different each child is and having these little motor delays with Jilly has taught me a lot about children, about motherhood, and about comparing to others. I always hear people say that kids will learn and grow at their own pace and it is absolutely true!
She has started saying "dada" and "mama", which is just the cutest, sweetest thing! She claps like crazy, does a little shaky dance when we turn on the music, and charms people everywhere we go. She has been fighting an ear-infection this week but when we went to the pharmacy to get her antibiotics, despite feeling puny, she was so sweet to the older couple behind us in line. She still has no teeth but LOVES baby food, coconut milk, regular milk (I just give her a little to get her used to the taste for once she stops nursing), and she even had potato soup this week! She is such a snuggler and we just eat her up! Love, love, love this girl!
2 months from now, she will be 1...I think I might cry!
