Jillian at 8 months!

This girl!  Time is flying...she is still my little baby though!  And maybe I've been babying her a little too much because this girl is not sitting up, not army-crawling, not rolling over much...I don't even know what to do!  She hated tummy time when she was smaller and if she cried for long, the big kids would mug the heck out of her on the floor so most of the time I just put her on her back and she'd happily play for a while.  She knows how to roll over and will immediately flip onto her back if I put her on her stomach.  But if I try to coax her with a toy to go from her back to her front, she thinks about it, turns on her side, tries to reach it, and then just rolls right back onto her back.  Stinker!  To reach a toy, she pushes off with her feet and does an inchworm on her back until the can reach her target.  If she wants to see what is behind her, she kicks one foot and turns in a circle until she is facing the desired direction.  She did this the other night when Mike came home, she was facing the door but heard him, got excited, and kicked around until she could look at him.  At least she is creative!

I have really been trying to work with her more, pulling her into a sitting position with her hands so she has to use her abs, sitting next to her so she can't automatically roll over onto her back, and sitting with my legs in a V with her sitting up in between so she can learn to sit up on her own.
If we put her on tummy time for "too long", she just puts her head down and sticks that thumb in her mouth like "I'm done!"  Honestly, I'm not really ready for her to be fully mobile anyway, but still, it is hard not to compare her to other babies her age or to her big siblings.

She still has no teeth so we haven't tried table food but she gets so excited when its time to eat her baby food!  She has tried a few new combos and really likes apples and cherries, spinach-zuchini-bananas, mangos-peaches, sweet peas or green beans and pumpkin!  She does not like carrots for some reason but we'll keep trying.  She is becoming more vocal, her hair is getting long enough for a tiny elastic, and if she is in her carseat, she will do crunches in order to grab at something she wants.
I find that she is really observant and watches everything.

She is still nursing and is still a mama's girl.  She has the cutest little pout when she someone else is holding her and she sees me.  She kind of whimpers and then pushes air out between her lips...its funny.

We just love her.  I mean, I could kiss on her and love her up all day long.  She is super sweet.  People stop me in the store all the time so they can peek at her and get a little smile.  Most of the time, she does not disappoint and I just love the time I get with her while Drew and Susanna are at school.  Drew and Susanna adore her and can get her to laugh hysterically at the drop of a hat.  Those moments get really loud!

I'm kind of freaking out that 8 months have passed.  Seriously...its killin' me!  Soon my baby won't look like a baby and I'll want another baby!  But until then, I'm gonna enjoy the heck out of this one!  Your a gem, Jillian Faye!
