As mentioned here, Mike's birthday was this passed Monday and he turned the 32! Can I just add, that he was 22 when we met?! I can but can't believe we have been together that long. It totally feels like longer! (I'm kidding!)
Since he got his gift way back in July (a mini-iPad), we didn't go all crazy but we did decorate the dining area, I made this chocolate pie, which was AMAZIN', and he opened his present. He had interview a new guy for dinner so he didn't get home until about 6:30. The kids were so excited for him to get home so we could dig in to that pie and so he could blow out his candle. Drew said he couldn't turn 32 until he had blown it out. Needless to say, when he walked through the door, he had our full attention.
If only I could upload the video of us singing to him...it is so cute...dang computer! Its only showing it up as and IMG, so annoying! Anyway, it was a sweet night and we sure love that daddy!
Ok so here are 32 things I LOVE about Mike!
1. He has a fierce love of the Savior.
2. He comes home and helps without complaint.
3. He works hard.
4. He puts up with my crazy.
5. He dances with our girls in the kitchen.
6. He loves the outdoors.
7. He is friendly to everyone.
8. He apologizes to people when I'm snippy in the grocery store.
7. He likes soups, which I like to cook.
8. He doesn't make me feel guilty about eating junk.
9. He thinks I'm pretty even when I really look like crap.
10. He watches all my shows with me.
11. He can do funny impersonations with his voice.
12. He sings loud in the shower.
13. He brings me little chocolates from work sometimes.
14. He doesn't complain when I go to the store alone.
15. He helps the kids brush their teeth at night when I am done parenting! Ha!
16. No matter how tired he is, he gives them horsey-rides to bed.
17. He answers when I call him at work, unless he just can't.
18. He encourages our kids to pray.
19. He likes to shop!
20. He looks great in plain t-shirts.
21. He doesn't shave on purpose unless he has to for work or church because he knows I like his scruffy face.
22. He likes to play pranks.
23. He is a great example to me of how to love people.
24. He is quick to apologize.
25. He likes to travel.
26. He sings loud in the car with me.
27. He cares about people.
28. He recognizes how hard I work.
29. He never discourages me or the kids if we went to try something new.
30. He is so funny.
31. He cleans the stupid bird nests out of our columns in head-to-toe protective clothing.
32. He has blessed my life with the sweetest children.
I could go on and on, and if you got through all this, bravo! He is quite a guy and I'm glad he has been mine for a decade. And although I can't wait to see what the next decade holds, could it not go by quite so fast? I love this life of ours and just want it to slow down a little...just a little!
