susanna stuff...

Susanna has been growing leaps and bounds these days.  She cracks me up one minute and makes me want to lock myself in my room the next!  She is definitely coming into her own and knows what she wants.  Which makes me happy...I want her to be confident and assertive...but we could definitely do without her tantrums.  That girl can scream for FOREVER!!!
Mike and I are both working on being more consistent with our kids and so the other night she kept getting out of her bed and I finally closed her door and let her scream for a solid 45 minutes.  The next night, she stayed in bed and did not move because I told her I would close her door.  So she learns quickly, which is nice!
On Mondays they don't have school so we took some time to let out some energy by exercising in the living room.  After that, she arranged our yoga mats around with her pillows and blankets saying she was building her house out of "bwicks".  (we've been reading the 3 little pigs a LOT).  She wanted me to come in her house so I did and then Drew and the skylanders (more on his new obsession later) came in too.  She got some books from the basket to make a door so the "skeletons couldn't come in" and then as we sat there, she said "we're just chill in' out, mom.  we're just chillin' out in my house! you can sit wite here...do you want a snack?"...she's hospitable, for sure!

I think I've mentioned before that she is quite the little actress.  She loves to pretend, like her big brother, that she is whatever character interests her at the time.  She came in to the living room after playing in her room with Drew for a while and she was all dressed up like this...
...she said to me "hey there sparky!"  And then told me she was Sheriff Callie and that she was on her way to Farmer Stinky's farm.  Then proceeded to sing the theme song.  It was pretty cute!

We played cootie bugs the other day and she dressed the pink one up all pretty and called it Susanna.  I made the other 3 and she named them Drew, Honey & PawPaw.  She set them up in 2 sets of 2 like they were in a car, with Honey and PawPaw in the front seats, she and Drew in the back.  She told me they were going to Honey and PawPaw's house and that she was so excited.  I don't think she is quite grasping the fact that we won't see them for a while ;( more on that later, too...
And today her Princess Anna dress came in.  I ordered this dress for Halloween and she is getting the Elsa dress for her birthday, that way she can choose who she wants to be closer to time.  I feel less guilty about spending money on princess costumes because little girls dress up year round, not just on Halloween.  And I found it online for $14.99...that helps!  I think she looks super cute in it but my favorite part is that she sings and dances around in it, acting out the songs as she goes.  I love this little girl.

Ahh! She sounds so much like Dixie. Dixie is definitely strong willed and assertive. She loves dressing up and singing and is always dancing to any music she hears. And if she gets upset she can keep up the crying for a good while. haha That Anna dress looks really good! Where did you find it?
