Christmas is Coming!

As I look at my calendar for this last month of 2013, I'm coming to grips with the fact that at the end, I might totally Christmased out, there is so much going on!  I have made a promise to myself though, and I think I came up with a pretty clever way to keep up with it, that I WILL make Christ the focus (as I should) for me and my family so that we don't get caught up in the craziness, stressing about making sure it is all perfect.  I don't want to end the month wishing it was all over and overlooking the reason we celebrate!  And I don't want my kids obsessed with getting gifts and not understanding that the Savior should be at the forefront.

To kick it off, we spent the weekend getting boxes out of the attic and putting lights on our house.  Mike did the heavy labor, with the help of our neighbor and church buddy, Brian.  I think it came out looking rather nice, although I haven't gotten a good picture of the outside of the house yet.  I use my iPhone for pictures 99.9% of the time and at dusk, it is hard to get a good one.

Buddy, our Christmas elf, came right on schedule yesterday morning and made us breakfast.  This is not an original idea but I will share more later on all the details!  It was a hit, let me tell you!
