A Southern Mama

Am I the only one who still can't wrap my head around the fact that Thanksgiving is in less than 2 weeks?!!  This fall season has flown by, at least for us.  I really need to update about Halloween.  It was so much fun.  Drew was much more into it this year which made it even better!  I have pretty much  no Christmas shopping done, which means I better get on it!  

Susanna had her 1 year check up since my last post!  She is 50% in height, 81% in weight, and 90% in head.  She is the silliest little thing...she actually tries to be silly so we will laugh at her.  She is feisty too though, don't take something from her because she blows a gasket!  She can say bye-bye and wave, bottle, yea, hey, dada, tickle-tickle-tickle, ball, baby, and bubba (for Drew)...Oh, and she FINALLY started saying "mama"...I was getting worried!

Drew has been so much fun lately.  He is starting to pretend a lot more and it is so fun to watch his imagination grow and develop.  He now knows the stories of Jonah and the whale & David and Goliath (his new personal favorite).  When describing David's sling, I explained that it was kind of like the slingshot on Angry Birds.  Then I showed him a picture we have of David slaying Goliath.  This, of course, made the story stick.  So for the past week he has been telling me the story over and over.  Last night he said to Mike "hey, um, dad, I'm David and you're galife (Goliath)".  All evening if we called him Drew, he would correct us and say he was "still David" and any time he spoke to Mike he'd say "um, hey, galife...(fill in the blank)".  At least he wants to be the good guy, right?!   He will turn 3 in 3 weeks.  If random people ask him how old he is, he says "I'm 2 but I'm fixin' to be free (3)".  He knows his stuff ;) 

We just got finished dealing with a stomach virus this week, my first experience with 2 vomiting children, so I guess I can't complain too much.  The worst part is seeing those sweet little babies feeling so yucky.  But its over and they are on the mend.
