I went to the endocrinologist today. She isn't sure what's going on because I'm not the typical diabetic candidate so she is changing my medicine, putting me on vitamins, and has instructed that I get rid of all of the sugar in my house. Honestly, not sure how possible this is going to be. If you know me, sugar is my FAVORITE thing EVER!
Basically, I have to eat more protein and less sugar/carbs. I've been researching lists of things I can eat and while I like most of what I'm reading, I'm having a hard time imagining my life without chocolate. The good news is that once this new medicine starts working, I will be able to eat more of what I want but in moderation. I just have to be careful.
I have to look on the bright side. I'm glad she didn't tell me I am diabetic. It could always be worse and if I get good at this change in diet, I'll be a lot healthier!

There are things you can eat to trick yourself! I actually typed up my daily intake that I'll email to you. Sorry it took so long. If you google search "diabetic diet meal plan" there are some good websites to read and get ideas from. After a little while, you don't want sugar anymore. I actually feel really sick when I have too much sugar now. YOU CAN DO IT!!
Cutting out sugar is so hard! Good luck girl. But like Stacy said, there are a lot of really delicious things out there that don't involve sugar. check out www.newtaste.com. I don't know if this will help, but I have been using these recipes for the last few weeks and I have NEVER seen sugar in any of them! But they do use a lot of fruit... I'm not sure if you can eat that. At least you're not diabetic!
