Saturday morning we packed up the car and headed downtown for another egg hunt (Exxon's) with Honey, Andy, Alicia, & Emily. Emily looked so pretty in her dress and she found some serious eggs!
The egg hunt was in front of the Louisiana State Museum so we decided to walk over and toured the exhibits...I did not even know this museum existed but it is top-notch and super-cool! We spent about an hour looking at everything and taking pictures. Naturally, I LOVED it and learned some really great things about LA. It made me really happy to live here. There is really nothing as beautiful as living in the south and LA has so much history and culture...and it is my personal history and culture...I love it!
Fishing seemed to be the theme of the weekend! This is part of the Sportmans' Paradise exhibit!
This is a submarine from the Civil War! I know! Didn't even know they existed and supposedly there are only a handful that are accounted for today!
I took this for my dad, who really likes Theodore Roosevelt...
This is the head of an old chair from the LA Chamber of Commerce. I just liked how ornate it was!
Drew & Uncle Andy
After the museum, we went to see Jamie & Jason & the kids in Baker for a BBQ (& more fishing for Mike) at the Davis'. It was yummy and soooo nice to see them, I think it has been almost 3 years since they moved so we enjoyed it! Jamie, I had a great time catching up! It made me realize how much I miss you and our friendship from when yall lived here! Hopefully we will head up to Utah soon to visit! Then we ran over to Mike's parents so I could do some baking and so they could see Drew and we took off for Opelousas, where we stayed at my MawMaw's until today. We pocked eggs, ate ribs (which I have decided is my favorite thing ever!) and hung around outside, playing in the grass and with bubbles! It was so much fun and pretty relaxing!
We have felt so blessed this Easter season (our first Easter with sweet baby Drew) and hope you all did too. Our Savior, Jesus Christ has suffered and risen for our sins and He is the reason we celebrate! I know that He lives and that he loves all of us. I am eternally grateful for His sacrifice and thankful & humbled by His constant mercy. May the spirit of the Easter season remain with us always...

Adi,
First off, you keep talking about how cute other family's are; you're family is much cuter!!!
Second, in the picture with drew in his hat, at first glance I thought it was your mom. I hope you take that as a compliment (but you probably won't ;-) I just thought it was funny how much you look like her! After I actually looked at it I realized it was you.)
Third, I didn't know about that museum either. I'll have to check it out! I too love our heritage. I love Louisiana and am so grateful to be part of this great state!
And last, please schedule a time that I can come hang with you guys! Also, my parent's annual crawfish boil is coming up and they "NEED" y'all to come. That is a quote from Mama Griz.
Miss you ALL!
You guys are adorable and that little Drew is getting so big...I guess our babe is too though! I really appreciate the comments you always post on mine and others blogs. It shows that you're really keeping up with us, which we appreciate.
I hope to see you guys again soon.
Robin
Aren't holidays the best? I love spending time with family. Drew is so adorable! He is growing up so fast. I hope things are going good for you guys. Happy Easter!
Drew's first Easter! Too cute! As you were talking about LA and the culture I just had this intense craving for crawfish!!! I miss LA!
