Susanna lately...

We are in full terrible 3's with this girl.  She is a mess!   Happy one minute, pitching a royal fit the next.  I'm never quite sure how she'll act.  Getting dressed in the morning is either surprisingly pleasant or a pain in the butt.  Some days she is happy, happy, happy to get dressed and go to school, other days she refuses to let me fix her hair and will literally kick and scream.  She has some vocal chords.
Her vocabulary has boomed lately and we love having conversations with her.  She says some pretty funny things.  Today we set up the sprinkler and played outside and when we came in to change, she said, "hurry mom!  i'm gonna be freaking cold!"

Last week, when the kids were in bed, Mike went to the kitchen for cereal.  When he opened our bedroom door, he saw her dart quickly across to her room.  He noticed scissors on the ground and pieces of cut-up paper towels all over.  He flipped on the light only to discover that paper towels were not the only things she'd cut!

(see those curls in this picture of her on her birthday?  yep, cut that right off :( )

Thankfully, she only cut swoop bangs and we were planning to go to Aunt Alissa's in 2 days anyway, so we got her fixed right up and if you didn't know what her hair was like before, you'd never know.  We had to have a long talk about only letting hair stylists cut hair and that she should never do that to herself or anyone else.  I thought Mike was going to cry.  He made me promise not to let Alissa cut the rest very short.  She still has her curls...yay!

The local library has such cute story time activities and I stock up their crafts every time we go.  The other night we went for Knights, Princess, & Dragons story time!  It was so cute...great games and crafts...and she loved it!
She loved the girl dragon from the dragon races!

As if the hair cut wasn't enough drama, on Sunday after church she got hit in the mouth with our seesaw swing and almost knocked 2 teeth out.  The dentist said they might turn gray, they might go back in place especially since she sucks her thumb, and that ultimately, they are just baby teeth and will fall out anyway.  I wanted to remind him that she was only 3 and was 4 years away from losing teeth!  Ugh!  She is ok now though and you can't really tell unless you look close.  I was the parent crying that time!

Susanna at 3 1/2 is funny, snuggly, moody, happy, friendly, rough and tough, persistent, stubborn, and smart.  She makes us laugh daily and is the best snuggler of all of our kids so far.  She also has some great eye-lashes!  Can't get enough of this girl but honestly, I'll be really happy when she turns 4...threes are hard!
