Easter Week Activities: Night 6

On "Easter Eve", as Drew has named it, we had a semi-lazy morning and attended his 3rd soccer game.  He is doing pretty well and really likes it.  It was pretty chilly that day for how we were dressed but it was a good little morning.  Then we went car-shopping (no luck but we aren't in a hurry) then we came home and got ready for Sunday.  Mike left around 6:00 for a priesthood social at our church building for the saturday night session of General Conference...more on what that is that here.   The kids and I had a recap of what we had talked about during the week.  It is really funny to hear Susanna tell the stories of Easter week...she kept calling the Last Supper, "last night's supper"...but she is pretty spot on with the rest of it!

We talked about each night and then the kids put the pictures of each event in order.

I felt great peace in my heart recapping those events with them and it made me even more grateful for the Savior and for His Atonement.  What an amazing gift we are given and I feel so humbled to share His stories with our children.  I love that they love Him and know so much about him at such young ages.

I wan to share an article that my father-in-law emailed to me this week.  It was so appropriate in regards to how I feel not only during Easter, but Christmas as well, and I'm sure many mothers feel this way when trying to teach their children about Christ, His life and ministry, and His sacrifice all while instilling in them the love of traditions.

She says.."Now that my family is getting older, I feel the need to deepen the traditions we observe around Easter.  I remind myself that being effective is often being simple."  I need that in my life that day...kids will remember how they felt during those special holidays more than how perfect I made each tradition or activity.  Let's remember that, k, moms?

(Gotta love that inspiration, he must have known I needed it!  Thanks, PawPaw!)

Well, kind of. It's a picture of Palm sunday, the last supper, garden of gethsemane, when christ appears to the nephites, and then the resurrection at the tomb. So it's the stories we talked about all week leading up to Easter Sunday.

Gotcha. I was wondering if you were bringing in some Catholic school art work! :) I like your idea. I may steal it next year for my kiddos.
