Our new baby girl is here! She was a 2 1/2 weeks early but the weeks leading up to her birth were NOT uneventful...it has been quite a month and a half. I'm pretty sure it is possible to be in labor for that long, at least that is what it has felt like! "Real" labor started early the Wednesday before (contractions waking me up around 3 am), continued all day Wednesday only to taper off that night, making us think it must not be the real thing once again. But around 3 am again, I was having them pretty intensely, woke up at 6:00 am to shower in case the doctor wanted me to come in, instead we headed straight to the hospital b/c of things that worried us (won't give you too much info :). We got there around 6:30, I got my epidural at 8:00 and she was born a little over 2 hours later! Crazy!
Jillian Faye was born on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:22 am, she was 7 lbs 2 ozs and 19 3/4 inches long. The first thing the nurses and doctor commented on when they first saw her were her big cheeks!
This last week has been an adjustment but overall has been ok. We have had great help from my mom and Mike's mom, lots of friends bringing meals and offering to continue to do so into next week! I am so grateful for those people! We are looking forward to getting back to "normal", although it will be a new kind of normal, of course! We love love love her to pieces though and can't wait to see what life with this little lady will bring!
