if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear
I'm sure most of you are aware of the Mississippi River situation down here. While authorities are pretty confident that the Baton Rouge area will be safe from flooding, our bishop issued a challenge to us yesterday that we be prepared with 72 hour kits. So tonight for Family Home Evening, we decided to make a list of things we would need if we were on our own for 72 hours. We went to Wal-Mart and got our supplies, then came home and packed our bags. While we will most likely not need them, I feel much better knowing that we are more prepared in case we DO need them. There is peace in following the commandments and knowing that if we do what is asked of us, we will be blessed, even through trials. I'm so grateful to know that we have wonderful people around us who love us and would help take care of us but it is nice to know that in many ways, we can take care of our little family ourselves. (And, if we don't need these in the next few weeks, I'm totally going after the snickers I've stashed away :)

I definitely need to get ours together! I started it and half of it's in GA and the other half we ate! Great examples y'all are!
