1 year stats

I took Drew to the doctor yesterday for his 1 year check up. He chatted it up with everyone in the waiting room and walked around doing his thing. He is a charmer, for sure! He had everyone giggling! He absolutely hated being laid on the exam table. As they weighed and measured him, he fussed and wiggled and when the doctor checked his ears and listened to his heartbeat, he screamed. He was crying long before his shots so I'm not really sure how much those phased him. He quieted down quickly though and fell asleep once we started strolling around the mall, Christmas shopping. Here are his stats at 1 year...
Head Circumference: 18 inches
Height: 29 inches
Weight: (are you ready for this??) 19lbs 9ozs

He has only gained a little over 1 lb since his 9 month check up. She said his weight is in the 7th percentile. I about freaked! She didn't seem horribly worried but she wants to check him again in 6 weeks b/c the average 1 year old boy weighs 22lbs. He is 3lbs behind. We have to start feeding him more calories and making sure he eats regularly (which he already does). It kind of makes me feel like a bad mom but once I started thinking about what he eats, I just think that the foods we feed him aren't high in calories (fruit, wheat bread, yogurt, meat, cheese, veggies, rice). AND the kid is all over the place! He probably burns the calories right off as soon as he starts moving around (and he has been walking since 10 months so that has to play a part in it too, right?)

Needless to say, we've been loading that wheat bread with butter ever since! We are so blessed to have such a sweet little guy, though. He is absolutely hilarious and soooo sweet!
