As I'm sure you are all aware, all of us Louisianians are preparing for the "storm of the century". Mike and I left our little house yesterday, stayed with his parents last night and left today after church. We are now in Marksville at my aunt's house with my grandmother and cousins. I'm sure we will still get lots of wind and rain but I just know if we would have stayed home, we would have been in some trouble.
My mom and dad are camped out at the Jennings Hospital...my dad is on call and that is really one of the safest places they can be. Jennings was actually evacuated today (everything south of I-10 was mandatory). We took our picture albums and tons of clothes in case it is a while before we can come back.
I honestly never thought it would be this serious again...for Katrina, we didn't lose a thing. Before we left, we said a prayer asking for protection for our home as well as for those around us. I have been feeling much anxiety in the last 24 hours and hated to leave. Please keep us in your prayers, especially those who are still in Baton Rouge. Let's hope its not too bad and if it is, we must remember that Heavenly Father's hand is in all things. May he bless us all and keep us safe!
